Residence: Lockport, Michigan. Enlisted as a Private on 26 February 1864 at the age of 20 in Company F, 12th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 29 Feb 1864.

Promoted to Full Corporal on 8 May 1865. Mustered Out Company F, 12th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 15 Feb 1866 at Camden, AR.

1890 Enrollment of Civil War Soldiers in Wabash County, IN shows that he had lung and throat trouble which was contracted during service. He had three children under 16 years of age.
