Harry S. Finerfrock, 83, of Maris Grove in Concord, formerly of Aldan and Marple, died Jan. 4 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Middletown.

Mr. Finerfrock was employed by Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania for 48 years, retiring in 1994. In 1995 he began his own business, "The Phone Man," in the Bazaar of All Nations.

He served in the U.S. Army's engineering unit in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 7390 in Broomall and held the position of adjutant for 23 years.

An avid football fan, he loved the Eagles. He was active in his community and a member of many organizations during his lifetime, including Meals on Wheels, the Aldan Swim Club, the Bell Telephone Pioneers of America and the Aldan Boosters Civic Organization, where he was once chosen "Man of the Year." Mr. Finerfrock designed the Marple Veterans Memorial Park monument and most recently was the co-organizer of the Veteran Commemorative Brick Program at Maris Grove. A devoted husband and father, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was the widower of Virginia Hartung Finefrock, who died in 2007 and the son of the late Claude R. and Mildred S. Finefrock.

Survivors: Sons, Mike Finefrock of Warsaw, Va., Bill Finefrock of Springfield, Jon Finerfrock of Hartsville, Ind.; daughters, Kathy McCrossin of Concord, Patty Power of Bear, Del.; 11 grandchildren.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Chester Heights.

Visitation: 8:15-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342.

Burial: Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
