Mrs. James M.Shaddock died Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock in her home in Macon after an illness of many months. She had been a resident of S. Macon township for more than 70 years. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon in Macon Methodist church of which she had been a member since girlhood.
Mrs.Shaddock was born Sept. 28, 1853, near Macon. She was the daughter of Thomas J. and Syrena Atteberry and was married to James Shaddock March 8, 1877. Of the six children born to them, four are living, Mrs.Lulu Brookshier, Mrs. Maude E.March, Mrs.Bertha A. Siehr of Decatur and Rolla E. Shaddock of Denver Colo. Also her sisters, Mrs.Sarah Atteberry of Macon and Mrs. Lewis Stich of Decatur, two brothers, Luther Atteberry of Watseka and Thomas Atteberry of Assumption. Her descendants include five grandchildren.
In the community in which she had lived so many years. Mrs.Shaddock was recognized as an ideal wife and mother, devoted to her home and to her family. Until she came to Macon eight years ago all of her life had been passed on a farm near that city.
