J. E. Barton, an old and much respected citizen of the Moshiem community, died last Friday and was buried by the Masonic fraternity at the family cemetery, next day. Mr. Barton came to Texas in 1858, went into the Confederate Army, Granbury's Brigade, at the beginning of the Civil War, served to the close of the war, returned to Texas and has lived in our community ever since.
