Mrs. Elva Hyde, wife of Guy P. Hyde, died Friday morning at 8:15 o'clock at her home at 1907 West Eleventh avenue following a ten days illness with pneumonia. Mrs. Hyde, whose maiden name was Elva Ione Howard, was born at Giltner, May 4, 1895. She was married to Guy P. Hyde, February 2, 1913, at Taylor, and with her husband resided on a farm near there until 1923 when she moved to this city. To this union were born five children, Vera, Elenora, Laura, Thelma and Glen, all of whom with the husband survive; also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Howard, six brothers, Roy, Ira, Harvey, Robert, Edward and Jasper, and a host of other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Ethan and Fred, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, with a short service at the home at 1:30, followed by a service at the O'Loughlin-Livingston funeral home at 2 o'clock. Rev. R. W. Hobbs, pastor of the First Baptist church, of which she was a member, will officiate with burial in the Grand Island cemetery.
