FORMER COLOMA BUSINESSMAN DIES, WAS EIGHTY-SEVEN

Coloma - George Kirsenlohr who for many years operated a meat market in the village of Coloma, passed away at the Wild Rose hospital on Thursday, June 17, but 10 days before his 87th birthday. For a week previous to his death, he had received hospitalization for a heart ailment. Mr. Kirsenlohr was born June 17, 1861.

After retiring from business in Coloma, he later moved onto a farm about one and one-half miles north-west of the village and lived there until his wife passed away in 1927. His remaining years were spent among his children, but for the past seven years he made his home with a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Kirsenlohr of Coloma.

Four children were born of his first marriage, the first Mrs. Kirsenlohr having been the former Emma Walters. Two sons preceded their father in death, one an infant and another, Willie, who died Nov. 18, 1934.

In December, 1901, Mr. Kirsenlohr wedded Mrs. Millie Shippee. To this union a son, Louis, was born and died March 11, 1939. A step-son, Bertie; a sister, Mrs. Emma Adams; and a brother, William, all preceded him in death. Survivors are two daughters: Mrs. Edward (Edith) Apps of Wild Rose and Mrs. Floyd(Lena) Parsons of Stevens Point; two step-daughters, Mrs. Fred (Carrie) Apps of Coloma and Mrs. Joe (Grace) Kujawa of Plover; two daughters-in-law: Mrs. Mary Kirsenlohr of Columa and Mrs. Melvin Johnson of Milwaukee; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a step-sister, Mrs. Mary Prochnow, and a half-brother, Albert Thiele, both of Almond.

Last rite were conducted by the Rev. H. H. Ferris, and during the services hymns were sung by Stanley Hamilton accompanied by Mrs. Edgar Kneip at the organ. The following granddaughters acted as flower girls: Mrs. Leslie Shaw of Milwaukee, Mrs. Walter Parsons of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Lars Thomsen of Racine, Mrs. Leonard Bibby of Waukesha, Mrs. Darwin Ransons of Hancock, Mrs. Orin Kirsenlohr of Coloma, Mrs. Harvey Parsons of Almond, and Mmes. Harold Apps and Ed Apps, Jr., both of Wild Rose.

The pallbearers were six grand-sons: Orin and George Kirsenlohr and Burton Apps of Coloma; Harvey Parsons of Almond, Harold Apps of Homer. Interment was made in the Plainfield cemetery.
