It is not know for sure where Amey was born. It could be NC or OH. She was 16 yrs old when she married Joseph Cox in Ross Co., OH. She had 11 children. Amey died 4 yrs after the family moved to Bell Co., TX.
There was no community burying ground at the time & she was buried on the home place. Her grave is the only one there. It is near a little ravine in what was called the "upper field" & near the old home place. A rail fence was built around the grave at one time but a prairie fire destroyed it. The area is now part of Fort Hood Army property & no one knows for certain where the exact location is now.
