Graduate of Sacramento High School. Served in World War I as an airplane mechanic. Retired from the Western Pacific Railroad as Chief Accountant after 43 years. An avid home orchardist and lifelong ham radio operator. Father of three children: Galen, Ellen & Edward. He died of a "pituitary tumor."
