Vernon was born in Milford, Illinois September 10 1931 the son of LeRoy A. Allen and Clara VanHoveln Allen. He attended country school for grade school and graduated early from Milford Township High School.While in school he played Baritone horn in the band and played football. He attended University of Illinois. He was a Master Plumber until he died from a heart problem.
