RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Betty June Mathias, 82, of Ridgeley, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 5, 1926, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Byard Oscar Glass and Ruth Estelle (Robinson) Glass. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leonard Byron "Buckshot" Mathias Sr., Jan. 22, 2007; and three brothers, Claude, Richard and Walter "Pete" Glass.
A retired registered nurse from the WMHS Memorial Campus Hospital, Betty was a member of the Keyser Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her twins, Leonard B. Mathias Jr. and his wife Barbara, Confluence, Pa., and Claudia Ann Hambacker and her husband Greg, Richmond, Va.; her sister, Laurann Peterson and her husband Guy, LaVale, Md.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dwight Ramsey officiating.
Interment will be held in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
