Dalton Elvis "D. E." Jones, of Purcell, formerly of Pauls Valley, was born June 10, 1921 in Cleburne, Texas to James M. Jones and Alice Myrtle Bennett Jones.
He passed away April 3, 2009 at Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.
Dalton served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a Veteran of WWII. He was married to Shirley Cavnar Teal in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on April 29, 1973. Dalton was the Owner and President of D. E. Jones Construction Company. He was a member of Beaty Baptist Church. Dalton had lived in Pauls Valley since 1973 and the past 2 years in Purcell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Alice Jones; his 1st wife, Elsya Roberta (Fretz) Jones in July 1972; son, Kelley Dean Teal; and 9 brothers & sisters.
Surviving family include his wife, Shirley Jones of Purcell; 3 sons, Ronald L. Jones and his wife Amy of Muskogee; Larry D. Jones and his wife Patsy of Pauls Valley; and Mark D. Teal and his wife Dawn of Ada; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, April 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Mark Teal. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
