Louis Casanova, Third Ward, met with death while on shift at Brier Hill iron ore mine, last Friday night.
He was working with partner Simon Vicenzi, in a raise between the 7th and 8th levels when the accident occurred. The unfortunate miner was 42. He was born in Preghenn, Tyrol and joined his mother at Norway, Michigan when 11 years. When he was 17 he entered the employ of the Penn Iron Mining Co.
He was married in 1908 to Miss Florinda Vecellio, who survives along with 5 sons and a daughter: Joseph, Clement, Daniel, Arnold, Oswald and Virginia. Also brothers and sisters, all whom reside here, Frank C., John C., Mrs. Alex Pancheri, Mrs. John Juiliana and Mrs. Carl Morosini.
