History - Jesse Hobson married Nancy Henderson Simpson on 10 April 1859. He was 47 years of age. Nancy was a beautiful woman with dark hair and brown eyes, a young widow, 31 years of age, with a son, George Pruce, about three years old by her first husband George B. Simpson. Nancy was born 13 January 1828. She was a very good mother to Jesse's children. They had five children three of whom they lost in infancy, including a set of twins.

Jesse Hobson and Nancy moved from Farmington to Richmond, Utah in 1861. Richmond he engaged in farming, with a 60 acre farm, he had horses, milk cows, other cattle, sheep hogs and chickens. He was also engaged in civic and church activities and helped in building the Logan Temple. Jesse Hobson was the Mayor of the City of Richmond, Utah, and was comfortably situated there. He was well respected. When he wanted to resign, the people of Richmond flatly refused to accept his resignation. But because of poor health he could not continue. He was a family man and had a kind lovable disposition, an excellent horseman. He was a good public speaker, good adviser and counselor. He was energetic, orderly and liked everything in its place. If there were fairs going on, he was called upon to be a judge, of horses especially. He was fond of all animals.

Nancy died on 18 December 1863 at the age of 36, leaving her son of her first husband, George Pruce, who was about eight years old. She was buried at Richmond, Cache County, Utah.
