Born October 12, 1923, in Shreveport, LA, John Edwin Scogin was the son of the late M. K. Scogin and Venie (Webb) Scogin. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and had owned his own company which had shoe stores in Florida. He was also a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include daughters Lisa McCarty and husband Daniel E., Jr., of Katy, TX, and Linda McCall and husband Jim of Edmond, OK; 4 grandhchildren: Daniel E. McCarty, III, Hannah McCarty, Preston McCall, and Wesley McCall.
