     Wilder - Earl Charley Compton born February 18, 1884 in Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away Thursday night, May 28, 1931, at the age of 47 years, 3 months and 10 days. Friday he became ill with influenza which on Monday developed into a serious case of pneumonia and although two physicians were in attendance and everything possible was done he was taken Thursday night.
     Mr. Compton with his family had lived in this community only since last fall, making their home on the old Fletcher place northeast of Wilder which they bought from I. W. Kerr. He had been a resident of the Boise valley for twenty year.
     Surviving are his widow, son, Ralph in the Yellowstone Park, two sons, Lloyd and Richard and three daughters, Dorothy, Ethel and Freda at home; also his father and one sister.
     Funeral services were held Sunday at the Baptist church in Nampa with the Rev. J. E. Hughes and Rev. E. C. Knicely of Ustick, formerly pastor of the Wilder Baptist church, officiating.
