Alice is the daughter of Robert and Anna Lord Holderness.

Mrs. Alice Jane Heflin, 67, widow of George Heflin, died at 6:50am Tuesday at the Decatur and Macon County hospital. Her home was at 1045 North Monroe street. Death was due to gland infection and pneumonia.

Mrs. Heflin was born in Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 15, 1865. She came to Maroa township 51 years ago, and her early life was spent there. For 15 years she lived two miles north of Forsyth, moving thence to Decatur 13 years ago. She was twice married. She and William Schoemaker [sic] were married in St. Charles, Mo., Aug 9, 1881. He died April 3, 1914. She and George Heflin were married in Decatur Nov. 17, 1923. Mr. Heflin died Dec 2, 1928.

Mrs. Heflin's maiden name was Holderness. Her parents were born in England. She was a member of the Church of God at Boiling springs. She leaves the following sons: Frank Schoemaker, Los Angeles, Cal.; Jesse J. Schoemaker and Charles E. Schoemaker, Decatur. There are two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She also leaves a brother, Robert Holderness of Bloomington. The body was taken to the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home.

The funeral will be at 10am Friday at the Dawson & Wykoff chapel. Burial will be in the Boiling Springs cemetery.
