Mr. Claude O. Flagg, 84, of North Delaware Ave., Brunswick, died Wednesday, July 16, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Charles Town, W. Va.
Born Oct. 29, 1895, in Martinsburg, W. Va., he was a son of Slemmons and Stellah Osbourn Flagg. Mr. Flagg was the husband of Elizabeth Bennett Flagg.
Mr. Flagg was a member of the masonic Lodge No. 191, Brunswick; a veteran of World War I, a 50-year member of the Stead-Keenan American Legion Post No. 96, Brunswick, and the Presbyterian Church. He also served as a conductor on the B&O Railroad for more than 40 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Trainmen.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Florence Flagg Darr, Chevy Chase; one brother, Dorsey Flagg, Martinsburg; one stepbrother, Jay Flagg of Ellicott City; three stepsisters, Virginia Paulus of San Francisco, Lillian Shipper of Martinsburg and Gertrude Bogey of Kinston, N. C.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at the John T. Williams Funeral Home (formerly Peete Funeral Home), 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 18, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ralph H. Miller, former pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Brunswick, officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Petersville.
