COLEMAN - Tommie Poindexter, 95, died Friday, May 8, 1998, in a local hospital. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oplin Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 19, 1902, in Oplin and had lived in Coleman since 1992, moving from Novice. He was a farmer and an oil field worker and was a member of Novice United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Burks of Coleman; three sisters, Libby Gorman of Coleman, Opal Betzen of Tulsa, Okla., and Lola Stevens of Woodward, Okla.; a brother, Henry Poindexter of Fort Stockton; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
