(Kansas) Belleville Telescope and Freeman July 17, 1919

Otis Reed Morey was born in Warren County, Ill., on the 25 day of July, and departed this earthly life, June 27, 1919, at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months, and two days.
In his boyhood days he moved with his parents from Warren County to Mercer County, Ill., where on the 26th day of February, 1868 he was joined in marriage to Miss Amanda V. Pilkerton. To this union were born eleven children, four of whom preceded the father in death.
In the year 1875, he with his family moved to Guthrie County, Iowa, and where in 1892 they moved to Washington County, Kansas, where he resided until his heavenly Father called him to his better reward.
He leaves to mourn his death, a loving wife, three sisters, seven children: Mrs. J. W. Kuhn of Belleville, Kan.; J. T. and G. W. Morey of Mahaska, Kan.; Mrs. F. C. Payne of Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. R. H. Kerr of Mahaska, Kan.; Mrs. M. O. Sampson of Steele City, Nebr.; and Mrs. J. H. Strayer of Denver, Colo., and a number of grandchildren.
Our departed brother was permitted to live a goodly long and useful life and although the writer was permitted to make only a very short acquaintance with him, still the time spent with him, and while visiting with him was pleasant, and the council was always good and appreciated.
His interest in the church was very keen and close to his heart and his desire was that God's Kingdom should be implanted into the hearts of every man and woman in this community.
Brother Morey died as he lived, happy and safe in the arms of his Savior.
