MUSCATINE, Iowa — William "Bill" Harold Arnold, 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009, at Unity Hospital.
Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the Melpine Cemetery, in rural Muscatine, with full military rites. Casketbeaers will be Rolando Castillo, John Slutts, Steve Houdek, Ed Houdek, Jeff Houdek and Austin Houdek. Honorary casketbearer will be Darrell McIntire.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.
He worked at Grain Processing Corporation, and then as a deputy sherriff for the Muscatine Sherriff's department.
He loved to fish, sing and was his family's handyman.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Judy Arnold of Muscatine; his children, William "Denny" Arnold and wife, Kimberly, of Muscatine, Gary Arnold of Decatur, Illinois, Gale Brookens of Illinois, Stacy Kersey and husband, Kris, of Allcoa, Illinois, Fritz Arnold of Jesup, Crystal Arnold of Muscatine, Tammy Slutts and husband, John, of Fort Madison, Shelly Castillo and husband, Rolando ‘Rolo', of Muscattine, James Fuller of Muscatine and Brandon Fuller and wife, Jamie, of Muscatine; 35 grandchildren and a sister, Rachel Wiley of Vandalia, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters.
‘Bill' was born on January 25, 1938, in Sturdevant, Missouri, the son of William R. and Jeanette M. Crank Arnold. He married Judith K. Ross on September 21, 1985, in Muscatine.
He was an Airforce veteran.
