Mrs. M. E. Gandy, 80, mother of Dr. O. P. Gandy of Lufkin, died at 7:30pm Saturday at her home in Centralia, Trinity County, after an illness of one week.
Born in Louisiana August 28, 1858, Mrs. Gandy had lived in Trinity County for the past 64 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Besides Dr. Gandy, survivors include three sons, E. Gandy and W. Gandy of Centralia and C. Gandy of Lufkin; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Womack of Centralia; one brother, John Morgan and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Howard and Mrs. Zula Fowler, all of Louisiana; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Mt. Zion Church in Trinity County. Rev. W. S. Moody officiated. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion
Cemetery.
