BEATRICE M. SMITH
Beatrice M. Smith, 86, of Gladwin, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Born March 15, 1913 in Oakwood, Ohio, she was the daughter of Omer and Goldie Wright Grove. Beatrice married Manville Smith, Feb.16, 1943 in Gladwin. He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1974. She was a member of the Wagarville United Methodist Church, the Gladwin Hospital Auxiliary, Farm Bureau, and the WSCS.
Surviving are one son, Douglas and wife Mary of Bay City; two daughters, Barbara and husband Albert Richmond of Sanford and Yvonne Miller of Gladwin; four brothers, Wilbur Grove of Beaverton, Holland and wife Edna Grove, Mike and wife Dorothy Grove, and Duane Grove, all of Gladwin; one sister, Cecil Behnke of Florida; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin with Rev. Donald Haskell officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Gladwin. Memorials may be made to the Wagarville United Methodist Church.
