CHILD KILLED BY AUTOMOBILE HERE MONDAY
Six-Year-Old Son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eitel Fatally Injured When Hit By Car
Harry, six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eitel, was fatally injured here Monday morning about 10 o'clock when hit by a car driven by Mrs. Pauline Phillips Haulk, of Forest City. The child was taken to a local doctor's office immediately after the incident, but died a few minutes after arriving. The child was hit in front of his home on Cherry Mountain Street.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church here Tuesday afternoon. Interment was in Cool Springs cemetery. Dr. W. A. Ayers officiated.
Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eitel; three brothers, Earl, Jimmie, and Melvin, and one sister, Sarah, all at home, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Griffin, of Forest City.
City Officer Boyd Higgins investigated the incident. Mrs. Haulk had a complete breakdown following the tragedy and was placed under a doctor's care. A hearing will be held later.
