Calvin Emert Slaugh, 84, slipped peacefully from this earthly life on December 25, 2009 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.


He was born January 30, 1925 in Vernal, Utah to Leonard and Jennie Postma Slough. He attended school at Mack Elementary in Mack, CO and at Fruita Union High School in Fruita, CO. He married Garvene Garbe on June 18, 1966 and shared forty-three years of married life together.


He is survived by his wife, Garvene and daughter, Pamela Slaugh of St. George; step-daughter, Elaine (Doug) Peterson of Washington City; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Erma (Rob) Armstrong of Dallas, OR; Vesta (Tom) Watson of Springfield, OR; Ralph (Dorothy) Slaugh of Roosevelt; many nieces, nephews and cousins.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Manti Stake Center, 295 South Main Street, where friends may call on Wednesday after 12:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Manti Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the Manti American Legion Post #31.
