On January 7, 2010, Boyce Wilson Karriker, a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone, peacefully stepped into the embrace of his Lord.
Born on January 25, 1922 to Carl and Etta Karriker in Rowan County, North Carolina. He married Laverne Fairbanks on September 11, 1947 and went on to enjoy a loving marriage of 55 years. As a 52 year resident of Pensacola, he was a member of Ferry Pass United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge #278, and Scottish Rite.
Boyce will be greatly missed by his three daughters and their husbands, Ann and "Peanut" Johnson, Sharon and John Williams, Pat and Dale Chavers; one son and his wife, Paul and Harriet Karriker; five grandchildren, Laura Karriker, Lance and Brandie Johnson, Ryan and Carrie Chavers, Brian and Melanie Johnson, and Amy and Tim Bowden; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Landen, Max, Noah, and Mackenzie; his wife, Dean Clark Karriker; her six children, Milton, Hubert, Sarah, Frank, Jeri, and Diane; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Ed Lyles; his sister, Neta Holshouser; brother, Jack Karriker, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
We love you Daddy and will miss you.
Mr. Karriker's son-in-laws and grandsons will have the honor of serving as his pallbearers.
Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010 and may join us in a celebration of our daddy's life at 3:30 p.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
Flowers are accepted or a donation can be made in his memory to Ferry Pass United Methodist Church.
