Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Lang Wahl were held at the Evangelical UB church in Paton at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. Dr. John A. Dowd of Fort Dodge, conference superintendent, and the Rev. David P. Waterman, pastor of the Evangelical UB church at Boxholm, were in charge.
Eva Lang Wahl, daughter of Henry and Ellen Wagner Lang, was born May 23, 1878 in Muscatine county, and died Oct. 8, 1957 at her home in Paton. She was one of a family of eight children.
She was united in marriage to William Harold Wahl on May 23, 1900, near Muscatine. To this union were born three children.
Mrs. Wahl was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church in Paton, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Missionary Society and the Ingleside federated club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; a son, Harold; two brothers, Dave and Charles, three sisters, Viola, Ethel and a sister who died in infancy.
She is survived by her son, Howard of Boone; a daughter, Eileen (Mrs. Marlin Pike) of Red Oak; one grandson; one granddaughter; two brothers, Joe and Newton Lang of near Muscatine; two daughters-in-law, Leona of Boone, and Lois of Paton, and one son-in-law, Marlin of Red Oak, besides many other relatives and friends.
