He m. on Mar. 28, 1678 in Charlestown, Mass. (by Rev. Mr. Danforth), Rebecca Allen, dau. of Capt. John and Sarah Allen. She was b. in Charlestown in Feb. 1659/60 and was living Sept. 6, 1716, but the date of her death is not of record.
Case in The Goodrich Family (1889) and Stiles in his Ancient Wethersfield (1900) both claim John was born in Wethersfield May 20, 1653, although Stiles gives his entry as "20 May [1652-Weth. Rec.] 1653." There is no birth entry for John in the Wetherfield printed vital records, his date of birth taken from his father's Nov. 16, 1676 estate inventory ("John Goodrich is 24 years old the 20th day of May next.")
