Andrew J. Johnson born about 1840 in Lauderdale County, MS. to parents John Bailey and Mary Jane Robinson Johnson. He came to Hill County, Texas as a young man to begin farming near the town of Peoria with his wife Mary Jane Robertson. They had three children: Robert born abt 1869, Emma born 1870, and Dock born 1875. Mary Jane died 01 Aug 1876. He married Margaret (M.E.Jordan) 25 Sept 1879. She had two children Robert and Cora from a previous marriage. After the death of his father, John Bailey, in Mississippi his Mother Mary Jane Johnson came to Texas and lived out her life with Andrew and his family. Andrew died 11 Feb 1883 and is probably buried beside his mother in the Peoria Cemetery. Marker next to Andrew's first wife, Mary Jane,is unreadable and is possibly Andrew's.
