Ernest E. Andry, Jr. ("Bucky") passed away on January 7, 2010, at home with his family, ending a long and valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. Born September 28, 1939, a native of Algiers and resident of Mandeville for the last 18 years.
Beloved husband of Janice Jordan Andry for 47 years. Father of Michele Alys Andry Richardson (Michael), Jill Elizabeth Andry Giberga (Sam) and Lisa Anne Andry Gargiulo (John). Grandfather of Emily M. Richardson, Sophia H. Giberga, Samuel A. Giberga, Joseph E. Giberga, Andrew T. Gargiulo, Jordan C. Gargiulo and Katherine M. Gargiulo. He is also survived by his sister Jane Andry Soulant.
He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, Class of '57; and the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He was a pilot in the United States Air Force, a Vietnam Veteran and a Military Intelligence Officer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road, Covington, on Monday, January 11, 2010, at 2 pm.
Burial at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery will follow Mass. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm at the Abbey.
