Mary's birthplace is not proven, here are some hints:
The first official record of Mary's birthplace is the 1860 US Census. It states she was born in NEW YORK.
The 1870 Census (in Iowa) states she was born in CANADA, and that BOTH her parents were of foreign birth.
The 1880 Census states she was born in NEW YORK and that both her parents were born CANADA.
The 1900 Census states she was born CANADA-FR, but that her father was born in Iowa and her mother in NY.
Her children with Frank Russett on the 1900 Census state their mother was born in NEW YORK. On one of the later censuses, her youngest son states she AND Frank Russett were born in France and were French speaking. Frank Russett always claimed to be Canadian."
We have chosen to not indicate a birth place on her memorial, as it would be misleading in light of all this conflicting information.

As far as her birth date, we reference the same census enumerations:
1860, age stated as 18, making a birth year of approximately 1842
1870, age stated as 27, making a birth year of approximately 1843
1880, age stated as 41, making a birth year of approximately 1839
1885 census (Minnesota), age stated as 43, making a birth year of approximately 1842
1900 census, birth information given as March 1843, until any further information can confirm an exact date, we will use this date.

Mary's maiden name has been the subject of much research turmoil over the years, as she married Moses with the maiden name of Lasore. The birth records of several of her children record her maiden name as Lovely. We have chosen to use "Lovely" for the time being on her memorial. The jury is out and who knows if we will ever know the true story.

Mary's first husband was Moses Lashbrook. Mary's second husband was Daniel Butts, number 3 was François Xavier Racette, other wise known as Frank Russett. Hubby number 4 was one Andrew Markey, but, we are not satisfied that she really married Andrew or just lived with him. Hubby number 5 was Charles W. Burrows whom she married on Jan 8, 1894 in Wardner, Shoshone County, Idaho. We are fully aware that the name she died and was buried under is Burris, rather than Burrows. We are as sure as we can be that Mary Lovely Lasore Lashbrook Butts Russett Markey Burrows is indeed this Mary Burris. The address on Wyandotte street is that of her first husband, Moses Lashbrook, yep, Mary sure got around.

Mary's death was noted TWO times in the October 1, 1903 issue of the Kansas City Times, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri:

On page 2, column 1:
"Death of Mrs. Mary Burris
Mrs. Mary Burris, 57 years old, of 3223 Wyandotte street, died following an operation at Twenty-first and Cherry streets yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Burris is not known to have any relatives in Kansas City."

And on page 9, column 2:
"Died
BURRIS - - Mary, aged 57 years, of 3223 Wyandotte street, died following an operation Wednesday morning at Twenty-first and Cherry streets.
Funeral arrangements not yet made."

Mary's grave is not marked with a headstone.
