Mrs. Elizabeth L. "Libby" (Sentz) Bowders, 82, of 46 Mount Vernon Terrace and formerly of 326 Grandview Ave., Waynesboro, died at 6:30 A.M., Monday, July 10, 2006, in the home of her granddaughter, following a brief illness.
Born September 16, 1923 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Loretta (Paul) Sentz. She lived her early life in the Gettysburg and Waynesboro, PA areas.
She and her husband of over 64 years, William M. Bowders, were married on March 15, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD.
Mrs. Bowders worked as a cashier at the A&P grocery store, Waynesboro.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Louise E. Bakner of Waynesboro; three sons, William S. Bowders and Terry J. Bowders both of Waynesboro, and Timothy A. Bowders of Newville, PA; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Mae Davis, Mary Ellen "Betty" Oberholzer, and Lois E. Biesecker all of Waynesboro; one brother, Guy Sentz, Jr. of Fayetteville, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Thomas E. "Tommy" Bakner, Jr.; and one brother Frederick D. Sentz.
