Patricia Evelyn Sudduth, 80, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Villages of Jackson Creek.
She was born June 5, 1929, in Clarksburg, a daughter of Jesse Owen and Corinne Marie Schmidt Martin. On November 29, 1947, in Bahner, she was married to Lawrence P. Sudduth, who died October 11, 1980.
Mrs. Sudduth worked for AT&T for 32 years, retiring in 1987 as a supervisor of operator services. She was a Catholic and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1947. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her life, and she enjoyed attending family events. She had a long life fully lived.
Surviving are three sons, Larry P. Sudduth, and his wife, Linda, of Sedalia, John J. Sudduth, of Independence, and Richard V. Sudduth, and his wife, Debbie, of Conway, Ark.; four daughters, Kathryn A. Baker, and her husband, Larry, of Blue Springs, Diane M. McFarland, and her husband, Dennis, of Blue Springs, Cynthia L. Turley, and her husband, Bill, of Jefferson City, and Patricia G. Howell, and her husband, Peter, of Manhattan, Kan.; a brother, Jesse H. Martin, of Sedalia; 16 grandchildren, John Sudduth, Elle Withall, Jordan Baker, Elizabeth Hillsman, Lance McFarland, Ashley Sudduth, Tanner Sudduth, Leigh Casey, Keaton Howell, Traci Sudduth, Adam Sudduth, Kylee Howell, Ross Turley, Kara Howell, T.J. Turley, and Damon Turley; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Dorsey E. Martin; and two sisters, Gladys M. Voss and Betty L. Lyle.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Betzen officiating.
Casket bearers will be John Sudduth, Jordan Baker, Lance McFarland, Tanner Sudduth, Adam Sudduth, Ross Turley, T.J. Turley, and Damon Turley.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
