Dola Marie Powell Hunt, 75, 1448 County Road 15, Dahinda, Illinois, died at 3:05 a.m. Monday October 15, 2001 in Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born June 26, 1926, in Persifer Township, Knox County, the daughter of George Elloitt and Cassie Opal Woolsey Powell.
She married Edgar Eugene "Gene" Hunt on July 30, 1942, in Canton, MO. He preceded her in death March 20, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Eugene Hunt, Dahinda, Illinois and Richard Lee "Rick" Hunt, Galesburg, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friends, Tonya Barton and Tina Leonard, who cared for her. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and one brother.
She was raised and educated in Persifer Township, attended the former Trenton School.
She worked at the former turkey farms in Altona and Galva, and at the former Home Comfort, now Alcoa Aluminum in Princeville, Illinois.
She attended the United Methodist Church, Dahinda, Illinois.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday October 19, 2001 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, Illinois, with the Rev. Randy Douglass officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday October 18, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maquon Cemetery, Maquon, Illinois.
