Tom was the son of Adolphus Augustus BOLYER (1867-1931) and Julia Amanda LESTER (1868-1942).

He married:
(1) Susie Mae ROWELL on 26 Oct 1926 in Bienville Parish LA. He and Susie had children: Thomas Leon, Augustus Adolphus, Dorothy Mae, Harold Joe, Otis Eugene, Marguaritte Lucille, Mary & Kenneth BOLYER.
(2) Jewella Melissa "Jewell" CULVERHOUSE on 26 Apr 1978 in Arcadia, Bienville Parish LA.

Thomas J. Bolyer of Ringgold died March 7, 1985 at the Bienville General Hospital after a short illness. A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Bolyer was 77. Rev. Cedrick Hedrick conducted the service at Ebenezer Baptist Church on March 10 at 2:00 P.M. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Rockett's Funeral Home.
He is survived by four sons, Eugene Bolyer of Minden, La., Gus Bolyer, Junior Bolyer and Kenneth Bolyer, all of Ringgold, La., two daughters, Dorothy Everage of Ringgold, La., Lucille Jordan of Hidge (sic Hodge), La., one sister, Mrs. Lola Plunkett, Minden, La., thirty-one grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren.
