Newlin Pioneer Dies On Friday
George L. Gresham Is Buried On Saturday; Had Resided In County For 25 Years

George L. Gresham, 81 years of age, died Friday morning, November 6, at his home at Newlin. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church at Newlin by Rev. B. Helm, minister, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was in the Newlin cemetery.

Mr. Gresham was born in Murray County, Tennessee, January 20, 1850. He came to Newlin some 25 years ago, and had lived there since.

Pallbearers at the funeral were John Rowell, E.T. Covey, J.A. Ballard, Bud Watson, Gus Odam, S.D. Ballard. Those in charge of the flowers were his six granddaughters, Mesdames Henry Clark, Lewis Hamilton, Leslie Clifton; Misses Mary, Frankie and L.B. Gresham.

Survivors are Mrs. and Mrs. W.B. Gresham, Carey; Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Gresham, Snyder, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Gresham, Newlin; Mrs. Katie Gibbs, Wichita Falls; Mrs. M.S. Gresham, Dora, New Mexico; Mr. J.B. Gresham, Wichita Falls; F.S. Gresham, Newlin; George L. Gresham, Jr., Wilark, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Gresham, Dora, New Mexico; Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Ballard, Tulia; Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Green, Purple Hill; and O.L. Tucker, Purple Hill.
