Daniel Ertel, 78, passed away Thursday, April 20, at a La Crosse hospital after a long illness.
Daniel was born on December 23, 1880 near Lynxville, the youngest of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ertel, Sr.'s 13 children.
On December 24, 1906 he married Anna Hoffman and three children were born to this union.
Daniel lived for 36 years on a farm in the Seneca township and served as a clerk of the Shaw Hill district school board for several years. During that time, a new school house was built.
He and his wife moved to the village of Eastman in 1940.
