BRUYN – In this city, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1892, Mrs. Abigail Bruyn, relict of the late Hon. A.D.W. Bruyn, in the 90th year of her age.
Funeral services at the residence of her son-in-law, E.J. Morgan, M.D., Friday at 2 o’clock.

Almost a Nonagenarian.
In the death of Mrs. Abigail Bruyn, recorded to-day, the community loses one of its oldest residents. She came to Ithaca in 1818 a bride not quite 16 years of age, and had she lived until the 30th of next March would have been 90 years old. Mrs. Bruyn at the time of her death had been a widow 54 years, her husband, Hon. A.D.W. Bruyn, dying July 27, 1838. The deceased was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive her: two sons, Dewitt [d. 27 Jul 1909] and Joshua C. Bruyn [d. 2 Nov 1901], of Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. A.M. Mann, of Farmer Village, Mrs. A.B. Dana and Mrs. E.J. Morgan of this city. There are also surviving her nine grand children and nine great-grand children. The immediate cause of the venerable lady’s death was paralysis, she having received a shock a few days ago.
