Mrs. Shabal was born in Atlantic Mine, Michigan, and moved to Casa Grande two years ago. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Shabal was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Chuch in Casa Grande and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her husband, George J., of Casa Grande; a daughter, Rene M. Bergsma, of Birmingham, MI; three sons: David G., of Lawrence, KS, Michael J., of Phoenix, and Patrick J., of Westchester, OH; three sisters, Martha Raisanen, of Holiday, FL, Laila Dunn and Sylvia Johnson, both of New Port Richey, FL; and seven grandchildren.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Tri City Chapel, with Mass scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chandler. Burial will be in Valley of the Sun Memorial Park.
