Helen was the eighth of eleven children born to George Washington and Lucy Mae (Rimmer) Stewart. She married (1) Mack McKinley Byers in 1938 and they were the parents of two children: Kenneth Ray and Patricia Ann. She married (2) Phillip Leo Teaster in 1946 and they had five children: Ralph Lee, Boyd Deril, Barbara Marie, Dennis Wayne and Phillip Junior.

STATESVILLE -- Mrs. Helen Stewart Teaster, 87, died March 31, 2007. Funeral 3 PM Tuesday at Calvary Community Church. Visitation 7-8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Nicholson Funeral Home is in charge.
