Juanita G. McIntyre, 96, a lifelong Norwich area resident, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.

Juanita was born in Oxford, NY on March 19, 1923. She was a lifelong resident of the area and will be remembered as being dedicated to her family. She always was trying to see the good in life and anyone she associated with. Juanita was known to always put people's needs above her own. For many years she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norwich. Her strong faith in God helped her through many difficult times in her life. Juanita's secret to life was staying active and taking part in family activities and exercise. She loved her 2 mile walk around the City of Norwich. Juanita worked as a waitress for the Walker family at the Chat – N- Chew and Cottage Kitchen for many years. She co-owned the Globe Restaurant for many years with her husband Ronald. She was known locally for her baking skills, making literally thousands of wedding and other cakes for people in the community.

Juanita was raised by her mother Lavina and her beloved stepfather Harvey Royce.

Juanita was predeceased by her husband Ronald, her daughter Linda Green her son Gary McIntyre and granddaughter Amy Cummings. She was also predeceased by her stepchildren Ronald McIntyre, Alice Holtslander, and siblings Richard (Dick) Hamilton, Patrick Hamilton, Harold (Buster) Hamilton and Joseph Hamilton.

Survivors include her children; and son-in-law and daughter- in- law. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 31 Great grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Juanita's family would like to thank the residents and staff that loved her at the Norwich Rehab. And Chenango Memorial Hospital and all her lifelong friends.
