ELDORADO - Doris Lee Emmons Doty, 80, went to be with the Lord at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008, in her home that she loved, in Eldorado, Texas. She was born in Odessa, Texas, to Herbert and Grace Emmons on March 25, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Robert Doty; and youngest brother Gary Emmons.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, in Kerbow Funeral Home chapel.
Doris was a hard-working woman with many talents; she loved cooking, sewing and plants. She was employed by Ethicon, was a telephone operator for GTE, worked at the Lake View High School cafeteria and Eldorado High School cafeteria, and at last she lived her dream as a rancher. She loved living in the country, watching the sheep, goats, cows and many birds roam and fly by.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Frank D. Doty; two daughters, Angi Doty of Odessa, Texas, and Vicki Doty of San Angelo, Texas; one sister, Martha Emmons of San Angelo; six brothers, Herbert Emmons Jr., Gordon Emmons, Buck Emmons, Richard Emmons and wife Shirley, and David Emmons, all of Eldorado, and Jimmy Emmons of Sterling City; and sister-in-law Marty Emmons of Dallas; grandchildren Amanda and husband Bobby Mancha of Odessa, Paul Emmons of San Angelo, Leigh Doty of Dallas and Beau Doty and wife Stacy of Tunkannock, Pa.; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Memorials may be made in Doris Doty's name to Hospice of San Angelo.
