HINDBAUGH, Fae D.
Long time resident of Palmdale, Calif., passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009. He was 89 years old, and passed of natural causes following a 10 year battle with Alzheimers. Born on June 7, 1920, in Kalamazoo, and raised in Michigan, Fae joined the Marine Corps. Having served in many facets, and seeing much of the world, he retired as a MSGT, after 27 years of service, having been responsible for more than 5000 men at any given time. He made the Marine Corps his primary career. After retirement from the USMC, Fae took employment within the Plant Security Department at Lockheed, where he served as an active Union Steward, and Supervision, retiring after 23 years. Fae enjoyed both working, spending time with friends, bowling and fishing, among other activities throughout his life. Fae is preceded in death by his brother Floyd Hindbaugh, step-son Bill Smeltzer, and daughter Sharon Case. Fae is survived by his wife Phyllis of 32 years, and son Steven, of Palmdale, Calif.; As well as his brother, John P. Hindbaugh of New Mexico; along with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Fae was laid to rest at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Dec. 14, 2009, but will be honored with a Memorial Service to be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale, Calif.
