Suggested edit: Funeral services for Mrs. Aseneth Mathias, 83, widow of the late Jacob R. Mathias, who died yesterday morning at the home of her son, Jesse Mathias, were held this afternoon near her old home in Mathias, W.Va.

Mrs. Mathias was a native of Lost City, W.Va., She moved here shortly after her marriage to Mr. Mathias and has since resided in this (Quicksburg) community.

She was well known throughout this section and had a host of friends. She was a woman of sterling Christian character and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.

She is survived by a large family of children. She had a wide family connection, both in this section of Shenandoah County and in the Lost City, W.Va., community.
