Ladell Bruce was born on September 8, 1927, in Mead, Oklahoma. She passed away January 3, 2010, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico.
She had resided at Melrose, New Mexico, since 1942. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Melrose. She loved God, life, playing bingo, dominoes, card games, bowling, and western music. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Lura Watterson; one brother, Everette Watterson; her husbands, Benny Burdette and Elton "Chunk" Bruce, and one sister, Erma Meredith.
She is survived by sisters, Christine Barlow of Melrose and Jane Sinclair of Morton, Texas; stepsons, John Bruce and wife, Donna, Bob Bruce and wife, Donna, and Leslie Bruce and wife, Patsy; stepdaughter, Linda Hillis and husband, Gary of Clovis; grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and one daughter, Elaine Witcher of Florida.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Melrose with Rick Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be John Bruce, Bob Bruce, Leslie Bruce, Wes Runyan, Keaton Reed, Jeff Reed, Matt Cordova, and James Meredith.
