Grace is the daughter of John William McKinley and Minnie Florence Plumber. She married Warner Lee Hurshman 31 Dec 1921 in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. Grace and Warnie had the following children: Marjorie Lee and Nadine Maryellen.
Grace's obits says that she collapsed and died suddenly apparently of a heart attck at 8:45 o'clock Sunday night at her home. She was 54.
The obit says that Grace was found on the floor of her home by neighbors who were summoned by another party. Grace apparently began to feel ill while alone in her home, attempted to summon the neighbors but she dialed the wrong number.
However the party whom she reached felt something was amiss and call the neighbors, urging they check immediately. The neighbors found that Grace had collapsed before completing a second call. The telephone receiver was off its cradle.
Neither Warnie nor their adopted granddaughter Nancy Lee were home when Grace was stricken. A physician who was summoned pronounced Grace dead within a few minutes after she was found.
Besides her husband and adopted daughter, Grace was survived by her daughter, Nadine; two brothers, Harry and Ralph; two sisters, Ollie and Mae; and two additional grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Lee, mother of Nancy Lee.
Grace, who would have been 55 year old next week, is noted as a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Marissa, the Auxiliary of the Marissa Local, Progressive Mine Workers of America, and the birthday club.
Funeral services were held at the Finger funeral home with Rev. Wesley P. Walters pastor of the U. P. Church officiating. Burial is noted in the Marissa cemetery.
