Daughter of Thomas P. and Elizabeth Ann (Norris) Metcalf. She was born in or near Baltimore, MD. She married John Irrgang, May 15, 1875 at the Trinity Evangelical Church, Harrisburg, PA. Grandaughter of Joshua Norris FAG#49078717.

Thanks to Findagrave member, Cherie Officer for locating her obit. in the Gettysburg (PA) Times, Friday, Jan. 22, 1943 Page 5. Emma had a very bad stroke and passed away three weeks later at her home, 113 Gettysburg St., in Dillsburg, PA. Emma married John Irrgang at the Trinity Evangelical Church in Harrisburg, PA on May 15, 1875. They first lived in Wellsville, PA before moving to Dillsburg where they had lived since 1913. Emma was a member of the Methodist Church in Dillsburg. At the time of her death she was survived by eight children, William "Will" Frederick Irrgang of Springfield, MA., Mrs Frank A. (Blanche) Weitzel of Olean, NY., Mrs. Jesse (Julia) Cadwallader (lived near Wellsville, PA.), Miss Adeline Wells Irrgang, at home, Lewis "Ned" Edward Irrgang of Lewistown, PA., Mrs. Raymond (Annie) Spahr and Mrs Arthur (Dorothy) Hess, both of Dillsburg. She was also survived by 18 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren(one of them being me). The funeral was held at her home on Jan. 20, 1943.
