Francis fought a long but brave five year battle with Breast Cancer

Frances Lee Thompson, 65, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 in a local care facility. Frances was born August 28, 1944 in Arlington, Texas to Jake and Jewel Lassie Cox. Frances was regarded as a brave woman by her family. She was an extraordinary mother to her children, loved everybody she met and never met a stranger. She was a waitress at Waffle House some thirteen years and was an avid Bingo player.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Bubby Torres, and sister, Patricia Salazar. Survivors include her husband of nineteen years, Thomas; daughter, Teresa Gibson and husband, Dennis of Indiana; sons, Tommy Ray Torres, Daniel Torres, Joey Baker (Hope) and Thomas Allen Thompson Jr. and wife Vanessa of Fort Worth; sisters, Peggy Strain and husband Roger, Sandra Raistrick and husband Billy, Delita Moody of Weatherford; brothers, Bobby Cox of Azle and Tommy Cox of Fort Worth; sixteen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 3 PM in the Curtis cemetery.

Francis also has a grandson, Trent Jacob Ross, buried at the Brown Cemetery, Aledo, Parker County, TX.
