Grover Cleveland Hensley, 71, a former resident of High Point, died in Falls Church, VA, Thursday at 10:55 pm. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

Mr. Hensley was born October 11, 1892, in Yancey County, a son of Frank and Mary Hensley. Mr. Hensley had been a resident of High Point for 40 years until he moved to Falls Church, VA, in March, 1964. He was an employee of Slane Hosiery Mill, retiring in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I from 1912 until 1921, and in World War II from 1942 until 1943, and was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church. In 1922, he was married to Miss Beatrice Randolph, who died August 10, 1962.

Surviving are three sons, Holt Hensley of Baltimore, MD, Bennie F. Hensley of Arlington, VA and David Hensley of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Mrs. Dallas (June) Teague of Arlington, VA and Mrs. Donald (Lois) Bennett of 103 Hedgecock Rd., 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret O'Brien and Mrs. Loucilla Wagner, both of 243 Boulevard, and Mrs. Etta Metcalf of N. Main Street.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will arrive in High Point late this evening will remain at Cumby Mortuary. High Point Enterprise--8/16/1964
