DEATHS

Mrs. Mary L. Knight, wife of ex-County Treasurer Benjamin F. Knight, died at 5 o'clock last night at the family residence, 7 miles east on Holdrege street. Mrs. Knight was 40 years of age, and besides her husband she leaves three daughters and two sons. The funeral will be held at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning at the home, after which the body will be taken to Chester, Neb., for burial.

Chester Gleanings.

Mary L. Knight, wife of B. F. Knight former treasurer of Lancaster, died at her home four miles east of Bethany at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The funeral will be held Friday. Burial will be at Chester, Nebraska. - Nebraska State Journal, April 9.

Mrs. Knight was formerly Mrs. Lasby who lived at Chester for several years, until four or five years ago moved to Lincoln. She leaves two daughters, Nellie and Anna Lasby, besides a husband and many other relatives. Cancer was the cause of her death. The family have our deepest sympathy.

Charles Lasby went up to Lincoln Thursday to accompany the daughters home with the remains.

Mr. Knight and daughters Grace and Edna, Misses Nellie and Annie Lasby and H. T. Bedell, Nelson Bedell, Fred Bedell and J. Merriman came down from Lincoln to attend the funeral of Mrs. Mary Lasby Knight.

Rev. U. G. Brown of Beatrice was called here to preach the funeral sermon of Mrs. Knight which was held at the Methodist church (sic) Saturday morning.

CHESTER GOSSIP.

The remains of Mrs. Mary Knight were brought from Lincoln, Friday, accompanied by her two daughters, Misses Nellie and Annie Lasby, and her husband, Mr. Knight and his two daughters, son and son-in-law, and her father and two brothers, Mr Bedell and Fred and Nelson Bedell. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church (sic) Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. U.G. Brown, of Beatrice, assisted by Rev. Hinson, and interment made in the Chester cemetery (sic).
