Elsie McCorkendale, 87, of Lexington, passed away at her home Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.
Mrs. McCorkendale was born June 14, 1920 in Lexington, the daughter of Albert Tony Kennedy and Rosa Lee Leckler Kennedy. She married John Thomas McCorkendale Sept. 11, 1982 in Camden.
Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack Evans and his wife, Sue, of Lexington, Kenneth Evans and his wife, Terry, of Lexington, and Larry Evans, of Mansfield, Tenn.; one daughter, Donna G. Lawrence-Burkhart, of Lexington; one brother, Earnest Kennedy, of Pasco, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Elsa was preceded in death by her husband, John McCorkendale on July 2, 2007 and her first husband, LeRoy Evans on Nov. 18, 1971, one son, Leon (Johnny) Evans, three brothers, Roy, Cecil, and Kelsaw McCorkendale, and two sisters, Grace Kraft and Eva McCorkendale.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
